My list:

PG - not any more
Soundstream - ditto.

Both firms have been bought and are not what they were.

I personally would look at JL "slash", Zapco, Arc Audio, and yes...DLS

Based on my inside info at PG, I stand by my statement, even though I'm glad you like yours.

The Xenons are being disco'd, BTW.

Fine some good old Soundstreams. Basically, the ones made about 2 or so years ago and you will have some of the best amps around. Of course, Warranty is an issue (if you bought them used).

Back in the day I had a Rockford Fosgate PUNCH 150 amp that really pounded!

I just learned that they brought the original PUNCH series back.
If I was in the market again, I would seriously consider getting another.

Rockford Fosgate is like the civic of the car audio world. No thrills, no performance, but last a long time and are reliable. That's not saying that high performance and thrills are mutually exclusive to reliability and longevity in car audio- they definately are not, but cockford definately isn't a Saab.

Clarification.

PG has been bought only in that their founder was bought out by other stockholders - not a new company or anything. Sorry if I misled anybody.

I was only making the point that were not aquired by the big conglomerate group going and buying everybody else, can't remember their name. Thier Xenon line, to me has a worse rep than what it is because of such a terrible initial run. It is still overbuilt and has good sound quality. But again I have the ZX series and hoping their new line is a step in the right direction

Working for stockholders can make companies too short term in their thinking IMHO

Mark
PS not trying to cause any ruffled feathers or start anything just like my old PG equipment
