It would be sweet if you have a coin slot on the kit. I might be asking too much

What are the prices? My custom mount is the Ipod sitting in my glove box, but hey, my steering wheel controls control it so it doesn't matter too much.

Jon, stock head unit, you need the PAC AAI-NIS. Then you need to feed audio from your Ipod to the PAC (which accepts RCA). You can do it like they do in the picture with the headphone jack, or you can get the Belkin charger adapter which plugs in the bottom and gives you a line out and power. It's more trick. That's how I hardwired the Ipod into my fiancee's FX35.

Thanks Inno for the info. I'll look into purchasing the PAC unit then... as far as the belkin adapter though, I'll still have an ugly cig. adapter plugged in? Is there a better option for powering my ipod? (Do they make a Dension IceLink for the G?)

Blitzsafe Universal Ipod Interface should do the trick. Dension doesn't make the IceLink for our cars. I researched into it already!

Where would I put my hot beverage while listening/charging my iPod? Also, the cup holder location is too far back to allow a driver to safely operate the iPod while the car is in motion. Frankly, I think a much better location is in the forward upper dash pocket that exists on G35's without navigation. Perhaps a solution that would allow the iPod to rise up from the pocket when in use and be lowered down when it should be concealed.

Just my $.02.

I am very interested. Will hard wiring the IPOD to the 05' G35 6MT's Bose system auxillary input channel be simple and straight forward?

Not exactly true. I have the IceLink AUX unit connected via RCA jacks to my PAC device. The IceLink uses the dock connector and also charges the iPod. Sounds great.

I agree. I need a location where my iPod is usable and I don't want to give up my cup holders. I'm still looking for a suitable mount for my iPod.

not to totally thread jack, but i've been considering this:

http://www.proclipusa.com/

you need to buy 2 things: a device holder and a vehicle mount. the vehicle mount attaches either beside your head unit, or to the vent to the right of the steering wheel. i guess this means you have to have a wire visible from the PAC unit, but it would just be a single wire, probably not too bad.

it's an expensive option, but ipodlounge reviewed it (and many others) and really liked it.

anyone have this?

The Belkin cigarette lighter plug can just be hardwired in underneath so you don't have to have it sticking out. That's what I did in my fiancees FX35. The process would be the same on a G35. Here is a link.

Hey Inno

Thanks for all the helpful info. I just ordered the PAC AAI-NIS today as well as the Belkin auto kit. Once those come in, just need to figure out the mounting of the ipod. wether it be the jmlaudio kit in this thread or maybe something custom in the pocket where the nav is supposed to go. We shall see. I think the ipod would be more functional and accessible in the nav pocket. I was thinking of some kind of hinged mount that could mount to the underside of the nav pocket door. So that when you open it up, the ipod hangs vertically. Does that make sense? hehe anyways, thanks again.
