"Why does the 4080 cost what it does"? Because it is worth every penny. Get one and you will understand.

It seemed a bit high to me too originaly. Then I did my research and for something similar would cost $500-$1000 and I would have to give up the G for a few days too. I could of gone the ghetto route and dumped a mdf box in the trunk for $150 or so and have enough space to fit a jacket in the trunk and thats about it. Once you finally get one, you'll realize it's actually a pretty sweet deal for what you get!

WOW ive noticed a lot lately that i cant ASK/SAY anything without getting flamed... I said at the top that I'm going to get the box... even if it were twice the cost of what it is.. I was asking a question... i obviously do not know enough about prices on audio equipment/install to know the answer to this... as the general consensus is the 4080 is a steal at its price.... Thanks Import tooner.... one of the few people who i have felt understand me on this forum lately

Ok guys, I admire the 4080 box quite a bit, and would like to get one, but I'm stuck...

WHERE do I mount my AMP?

4080? Have you thought about making a sleek false front for the amp, so I could mount it on the back of the seats or something? Anyone?

^+1 the fit and finish alone, not to mention the quality. I had a local installer qoute me 550 for a similar box. As far as the G goes there is no other box out there JMHO.

I have a little amp shelf. You have to yank the stock sub though and get rid of the top liner of the trunk. Reminds me I have to clean off that tape goo. I'm shooting the pic from a low angle. You wouldn't know the shelf is there just standing behind the trunk. Mine is a sedan BTW.

That's clean! I might have to try that. Enough room to throw in a fan for cooling purposes I suppose.
