Stripped 'er naked to dress 'er up **UPDATED**

Ive begun the stereo build up on my '05 coupe. Started by stripping the interior and trunk down to the bare metal. Have begun matting the doors, rear deck, sides and floor. Thought I would share some early pics to give you guys a look at your G's you may not have seen before.

Z

yes, much easier to run wires, place matting without worrying about messing up the carpet, etc. major bonus was finding tons of unused space underneath all the carpeting. more than enough room under there to mount the eq/xover (Alpine PXA-H701) and iPod interface (Alpine KCA-420i) under drivers seat, HU brain (Alpine IVA-D901) under the passenger seat, Alumapro CAP5 in side panels, etc. also safer for molding fiberglass pods of kicks for the Dynaudio 340's.

this is the first time Ive taken a car this far apart and let me tell you, it makes putting in a system MUCH easier. plus you get to learn alot about how the car is put together!

also installing JL 500/1, 300/4, and Tru 2.200 amps in trunk along with 4080 and 10w6v2. JL 5.25" in sides, Alpine center channel, fuse blocks, etc.

i should take a picture of the piles of parts laying around my house and really freak you guys out! must be close to 80 pieces laying in 3 different rooms. i used the service manual to disassemble the whole thing so at least theres a guide to get it back together.

I'd love to have the time to do that, mainly just to mat everything... You should throw the driver's seat in and drive it around the block to see what the weight savings feel like..
