im having a remote start installed on my stick shift G - i remember reading once that its possible to make the alarm not remote start if it is in gear, how can this be done exactly? I have heard of people doing it, but my installer says he has never heard of it and cant think of how to do it. Anyone know how its done, or can you confirm its not possible? thanks - and yes, i tried searching =P

 

It's a neutral safety switch. I'm not sure if it can work with all remote start....but I know compustar alarms use them. Don't get a remote start without it though, had a buddy with a modded out eclipse that was drunk one day and pressed the remote start button...ouch!

it is possible since i have it on my o4 6mt. i dont know how to do it though. i had a shop do it for me.

 

This is not only possible, but absolutly necessary, you just need right remoute starter look Skytek Galaxy or Astra. You will need to connect neutral switch and parking brake switch.
