I was thinking about going stock Bose for now and adding:

4080 Box
JL Audio 10w3v2
JL Audio 250/1
.5 Farad Cap

Anyone have a similar setup? What do u guys think?

I have similar as in 4080, JL 500/1 and a JL10wv6. I do not pust my sub system near it's limits, so I suspect what you are planning would work nicely as long as you do not intend to try to shake the car to pieces. I am in Ft Lauderdale, BTW, not far from Boca. The rest of my system is stock for now. The 4080 and JL really made a nice addition to my system.

A 10w6v2? wow i thought that would be too much bass. I might change out the other speakers later. I have been big into car audio my whole life, however as I get older I try to avoid the headaches associated with system problems etc.

should be a decent setup...quite a lot of people are running the 4080 box, myself included. You won't be disappointed.

Looks good. I'd spring for the W6 and not get the cap, its not needed.

Same setup here too. (4080, 5001, 10w6v2) You may really want to consider using something like dynamat in the trunk though. I personally used eDead matts, alot cheaper ($50 goes a long way) and just as good. The sound quality is alot better after some sound matts.

i am currently running a pair of JL 10w3v2's, however i will be upgrading to a single 10w6v2 when i build my new box. the pair of 10w3v2's have been great for me so far with my 500/1

it's always been my opinion that it's better to have alittle overhead when planning a system install... ie if you're looking to play 350 watts constantly get a sub/amp that can do 400-500 and then you're not stressing the amp at all if you play them lower... many people have done the 4080 and 10w6v2 with 500/1 amp and been very happy with it

of course, i don't like corner boxes and wanted something that stood out alittle more.....

hey SI_G35Coupe, you're setup is nice! did you have to remove the spare tire, or is that a false floor above the spare tire?

actually the pic is when it was installed in the trunk of xlacrosse, who built it and used it for about a year before he sold it to me (he has since left Driver since he traded his laser red G for a white M3, but back on topic)

his setup required the removal of the spare and the amp shelf mounted in the spare tire well... he then fabricated a new "trunk floor" out of plexi, wood, and trunk carpet.

in my car it looks exactly the same (obviously) but i mounted the JL 500/1 directly on top of my stock Bose amp on the left side of the trunk under the plastic, so i retained my spare tire in there no problem.

if i wasn't into being so "showy" (hell i drive a laser red coupe with chrome wheels lol) i woulda got a 4080 box and kept all my trunk space, they're very impressive for what they are
