Seriously! The only reason i haven't gone with a DD yet is that i don't want to loose my in dash 6. I love that thing.So i would definitely buy one of these.

Why Would Pioneer Put Out A Nice Unit And Not Have Front Viewing Of The Dvd Player. This Is Why I Went With Eclipse First And I Am Going To Stay With Them In The Future.

I Don't Understand Their Reasoning--their N2 Has Front Dvd Viewing, This Basically Knocks Them Out Of The Competitoin From Competeing Against Eclipse, Kenwood, And Panasonic (for Dd Dvd/ Nav Monitors)

 

from what im reading the email is saying its got a dvd for front and a dvd slot for rear

 

Cool then. I figured they would have done it for 2006. I think that is why sales may have slacked on the D1 because most of the units in its class played DVDs up front.

 

Does anyone know if there's any truth to this thing having an in dash 6 disc changer? Everything I've read makes NO mention of this feature!

 

the description i provided with all the information is about the avic-z1.my pioneer rep tells me that there will be an indash w/o navigation with dvd/cd 6disc built in but im not sure of any specs or pics or when it is even going to be released .sorry for any confusion .as soon as i know i will let everyone here know and get some pics

So the Z1 is a navigation right? And has a built in DVD player unlike the D1. Will there be a lockout on the Z1 unit to prevent it from showing the DVD movies on it's OWN screen? If so, will there be a way to bypass this?

Then you mention that they are releasing a SEPARATE unit that will NOT have navi, but WILL have a 6 disc? Will this have a screen as well?

I'm trying to assess whether or not the Z1 is worth waiting for over getting the D1 and a DVD player. If the Z1 won't play the DVDs on itself, doesn't seem like it's worth it!

 

I Just Done The Double Din Conversion With A Avic-d1 Because They Say The Z1 Will Not Be Out Until Febuary Or March.i Figured I Would Go And Do That Since When The Z1 Comes Out I Can Put My D1 On Ebay And At Least Get 75% Of My Money Back.i Extended All 25-30 Of My Navigation Dvd Rom Wires And Put My Rom Under Passenger Seat.and Then Put My Aftermarket Dvd Where My Dvd-rom Was.it Was A B***h Extending The Wires But I Used A Printer Cable And Then Other Cables For The Sheilded Wire And Gps Wires.also Yes The Other Double Din Will Have 6disc With A Front Monitor.as Far As The Lockouts Im Sure There Will Be A Way To Do It ,but Until We Get The Product We Wont Know For Sure.
