To those interested in the video clip...e-mail me at prophecy2910@rogers.com ... It is approximately 4.6MB and it shows the AVIC-N2 function as a hideaway unit...

very cool, any in process install pics?

how easy do you think it is to installjust a normal headunit in the cubby?

cause if its doable, then it can potentially save people a lot of money versus going with the double din kit?

As you requested... The installer is pointing at literally the millimeters of space left between the AVIC and the back of the dash.

Some more pics...Maybe this will help you visualize 16psibrick how I am able to retain functionality of the unit while it is closed. The lid is not just attatched on and unmovable. It is placed on via a hinge so that I can lift the lid and use the buttons on the face of the deck while it is closed. This hingle also also is the reason the buttons on the top of the unit screen are not obstructed (as you mentioned in your 1st point).
I threw one quick pic of my dirty car after a couple days in the shop...

Im installing this unit in my altima, and im having a problem. Can anyone take a look at your wiring harness and tell me how the power and constant 12V are connected? Mine wont hold any memory. all my presets disappear when the car turns off
