I'm new to the G and I believe my firt two mods will be sway and speakers. I understand you can drop in kappa's fairly easily, how noticable is the difference? Did you guy replace the bose amp? I'm fairly happy with the factory sub, so I do not want to rip out more than necessary. I tend to agree the imaging (highs) lack clarity. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks

I changed out my front Bose speakers with Kappa's and it made HUGE difference. Search on ebay for the best price. I bought the front components and rear coax speakers for $255 shipped. I haven't installed the rears yet. They are the perfect speaker upgrade for the Bose systems because they are 2ohm which is what the Bose speakers are. I partly agree with Manbir Sandhu, get a mono amp and subwoofer, BUT in addition to the Kappa's. Adding a JL Audio 250/1 mono amp and a JL 10W1v2 sub in a 4080 box would certainly make your system come alive. Do a search for 4080 subwoofer box if you're not familiar with it. Only one word....AWESOME!!!

I just like to add another question to the thread, i looked thru older threads, but most the info i found was for coupes....
In Sedans, whats the size of front, rear speakers and tweeker size? I bought rockford amp/sub but i ended up selling it to my friend. So i'm going to start buying fresh and this time i'm going to take my time since i'm in no rush since the car is stored inside...
Other question is, whats the wattage on bose speakers so when i do wanna upgrade i can then carry on from there.
Btw ur saying JL Audio 250/1 would be a good choice, but what about Rockford P6001BD? will that be good for powering up 2 12" rockford subs? And which wattage should i look at for subs?
Thanks,
Manbir

Again Thanks

I suggested the JL 250/1 w/ JL 10w1v2 to give you nice decent bass, but you can go with whatever you like. Just depends on how much and what type of bass you want. If you go with 2 12" subs, then I think the P6001BD will work fine. This setup will obviously give you heavier and deeper bass than 1 10" sub will.

I installed Kappas all around in my sedan. Took a total of 2 hours to install. Hardest part was to find a way to install the tweeters. The early G35s came with the bose speaker seperate from the spacer. So I used the stock white spacer to install the front speakers. Sounds awesome compared to bose alot more bass up front. Would sound a lot better if you use an aftermarket amp.
