Keeping the Bose 6" sub with new door speakers

This is 4 a g35 sedan
I am about to change out all my door speakers for Focal Polyglass's.

I was looking at amps (I want a Kicker to match my sub amps), and the idea came to me to get a 5 channel and power the Bose 6 inch sub with the fifth channel on the amp.
If I can find a nice 6" sub I am considering replacing the bose sub with something nicer and removing the cover to expose it. it will look sweet

Anyone know what wattage the stock Bose amp pushes to the rear deck sub?

the amp i'm looking at would be giving it 150-200watts, but it will have a seperate gain control ***.

Any other thoughts/feedback/questions are appreciated!

Its a 8" sub, but theres not a ton of choices out there to run IB as a replacement. Could always look into ID or I believe the DLS OA, although that would be a 10 and quite a bit of work. I believe CDT also has a decent one for there as well. Ive actually had good experiences with Arc8 and Alumapro Alusonics and Alchemy FA (again a 10" though).

Thanks for the response. So it's 8 inches ay?

Any idea how many watts the bose amp gives it?

Probably about 22. Remember, it's a 2 ohm speaker and that amp lacks a decent power supply...

You can bet better sound at medium volumes with an 8" in our avincar line. It has a 2" voice coil and works pretty well infinite baffle... but for a single 8", at higher volumes it will be overwhelmed if you are comparing it to any sub in an enclosure.

You will get much better sound by using an enclosure such as the 4080 box, but even a wooden box will be tighter and more accurate (and louder at thesame time with lower distortion) than the 8". I only recommend the 8" for people who do NOT listen to hip-hop or rap or trance music. For jazz and classical and some boomer rock, it's fine, but for modern pop music, it's not my suggestion.

duderino: I have two 12's for the trunk, we are talking about upgrading the system and making use of the stock bose sub, or if possible replacing that sub with a different 8 inch sub in the stock location. It would look cool to put a high end sub there and remove the cover. it'll probably sound good coming directly off the back glass too. But just to reiterate, this is in addition to two other twelves.

So you want to change out the stock sub AND along with two 12's?, Its very doubtful that you will hear much if any sound from that sub in stock location, the 2 12's will simpily over powers it. For me? I would rather spend that extra money on better set of Focals(K2Ps).
