Thanks.
Yes, the premium stalk fitment issue appears to be '06 only.

Well guys I got rraabb11's mirror that has the larger molded mirror shaft and now have a mount to fit it. For everyone that bought my mount that didn't fit, I will send out a replacement NC. Please PM me for your replacement.
I hope that this is the only different shaft for the G35's. Enclosed are a few pictures.

Thanx rraabb11 for your help!!

Mike

Does anyone know which of the 2 kits (3/4" diameter or 1" diameter) we need for 2006 G35 Coupe 6MT mirrors? I have been too lazy to go measure the circumferance and calculate the diamter...

um... sorry I'm in a cranky mood but um.... isn't that what this entire thread is about? if you notice, the first poster states that he has an 06 coupe. Shortly there after he is told that Mike's mount does not work. Shortly there after mike himself comes on and says that he made a mount that fits the wider diameter of the 06 mirror posts and even displays pictures of the new mount.

were you too lazy to go out and measure, or were you too lazy to read the thread?

edit: crap it gets worse... YOU are the first poster... ouch

I received the mount for my X50 from Mike yesterday and it took about 15 minutes to install. Actually the install took about 2 minutes, the other 13 were spent leveling the detector by adjusting the mirror (plus I work extremely slow). Coupled with an invisicord my X50 and mount look so nice and clean, almost as if it was a factory accessory.

Mike makes a good product and ships promptly.

One thing to note if you have an X50:

The radar detector will shake if you do not snug it up against the bottom of the mirror. This is not in any way related to Mike's mount, it is a function of the factory mount piece. As an easy fix, I just stuck a piece of felt to the bottom of the mirror (i.e. between the mirror and the detector) and everything works and looks great!

I used a rubber foot that was supposed to go on the bottom of an external hard drive metal case enclosure. Same idea, just a little taller so it "pushes" the detector down ever-so slightly as the detector is trying to stay against the bottom of the mirror. This pushing down because of the height of the foot causes the mirror not to bounce at all unless I run over a small child, and then because the foot is rubber it does not make noise.... though the child does. Poor alignment, I mean kid.

amthar,

Cranky a bit? Having your period?

Let's see what I wrote in my question...

"Does anyone know which of the 2 kits (3/4" diameter or 1" diameter) we need for 2006 G35 Coupe 6MT mirrors? I have been too lazy to go measure the circumference and calculate the diameter...

Doesn't look like I’m asking if it will work or not. I know Mike has a kit that will work for the '06 with the premium package since Mike PM’ed me letting me know he has one. I wasn’t sure whether the 3/4" diameter or 1" diameter was for the 06 premium.

I just want to know if the 06 premium is in fact the wider mirror or if the 05 non premium is the wider mirror. The new mold Mike made was from a 05 Non Premium I think. If anyone besides amthar the ranting moron knows the answer to this it will be much appreciated. If nobody is sure I will take measurements tonight and post my findings for all the 06 Premoum Coupe owners out there.

Crap it gets worse, you simply can't comprehend English! ouch
