If you are looking to retain your steering wheel controls with either the Kenwood ddx7017 or ddx 8017 take a look at the newly updated PAC ALP which now integrates directly into the aforementioned models WITHOUT the need of the remote IR like with the PAC SWI-X.

Bluetooth is separate unit located in the trunk. I could not find wiring diagram for 06 yet.
However, I am sure there is a possibility to integrate Bluetooth with aftermarket HU. My guess Alpine or Clarion will be the best choice for that.

You are correct; the unit is sitting on top of the Bose amp in my trunk. The 06 g35 Bluetooth (BT) unit in our cars appears to be made by Visteon. I took a look at their site and found some wiring diagrams for a similar aftermarket unit and I will see if I can't make it work with my upcoming install. What I'm looking for is the telephone mute wire (which will interface with most newer units including the Kenwood ddx7017 I'm installing with a telephone mute input) and the voice speaker out wires (not sure if they will be low level preamp, or high level post amp- the schematic for the Visteon includes connections for both). Once that is ironed out, integration with the Ken ddx or most other aftermarket HU's should be pretty straightforward.

One of the humorous things about the location of the BT unit is that it is sitting directly on top of the Bose amp and in all the docs for the BT unit it says to make certain to keep away from any other heat sources- just goes to show how wimpy the Bose amp is.

Kenwood has a bluetooth unit, it is the kca-bt100--new for 2006. I think it will only work for Kenwood.
