Fixing a Sub

i can get a 10"W6v2 (which is what i want) for $50! but the guy said that on the rubber ring, he said that theres a small "scrape" its not punctured all the way threw, but i'm sure with some uses, it will break. my question is, how could i fix it myself before it breaks? i was thinking some kind silicon adhesive. should i get it? thanks

I didn't respond when I saw this the first time because I didn't want to give any bad advice. I have no idea if using some kind of adhesive on that will affect it in any way so please take this for what it is. I'm not saying that you should do it, but for $50 it may be worth a try. A very thin layer of black silicone adhesive may do the trick for you. It may also be worth a call to JL Audio to see what they say. That's what I'd do.

Wink

I have a bud that repairs speakers. I know he uses a special cement for the foam surrounds. I'll try to find out what it is and let you know.

I would cut a piece off a bike tire tube and fit it over the damged part with a good rubber cement. Place a rubber piece on both sides as if to sandwich it. its 50 bucks. RX
