Shock Sensor DIY didn't work for me, I am stuck!!! Help please...

So I thought this was going to be nice and simple but it turned out to be one frustrating day... I was thinking to myself that this should take me no more than 45 minutes even taking my time.

I have spent about 5 hours on this without getting it to work. I followed the directions on boostedconcepts.com exactly... I got the sensor to blink when I tap it but I just can't get the trigger/diode part right.

I tried so many different possibilities with both the trunk pin AND the door pin wires! I made sure the diodes were facing the right way and everything and I tried different combos.

When I hook everything up, my trunk light doesn't even come on thus the sensor doesn't make my alarm go off.

Could it be something wrong with my sensor? Or am I just missing something?

Can someone explain in GREAT DETAIL of how the diodes AND wires should be EXACLTY? I followed the pictures but they are not very precise and did not work for me.

The stripe on the diode should be away from the BCM. you MUST cut the OEM wire that controls the trunk pin. I recomend using the trunk pin, not the door pin.

Once you cut the trunk pin wire install two diodes on the side of the wire that is closest to the BCM, with the stripes facing away. Then, connect the other side of the cut wire to one diode, and the shock sensor wires to other diode.

To test this out, connect your diodes to the BCM side, but nowhere else. Then, hold in the door pin button on the door, and arm the alarm. Once the LED starts flashing apply a ground to one of the open ends of the diode. It should make your OEM alarm go off. If it doesn't, then your diodes are in backwards, or your BCM is damaged.

Putting the diodes in backwards shouldn't cause damage to the BCM.

If your trunk light won't light up when you have everything connected it sounds like either the diodes are backwards, the BCM is damaged, or possibly the shock sensor is output a constant ground.

?

what size and type fuse did you use, how did you connect it to the battery, and what size wire did you use? as long as its bigger, any reasonable sized wire would work? is it ok to bend the diode wires? and does it matter where in line the diodes go (regarding distance away from the other parts?)

I am using a 5amp fuse and tried a 7.5 amp fuse for the power of the shock sensor... should I try a 15 or a 20?

The size of the fuse won't prevent it from working (unless the fuse is too small and blows). The shock sensor probably only needs a 1A fuse, but 1A fuses are hard to come by.

You're best bet would be to follow my instructions above and see if you can manually trigger the alarm, without the shock sensor (by applying a ground to the trunk pin when the alarm is armed).
