Powering Kappa's and Subwoofers

i am interested in purchasing components for the from and co-axils for the rear. Also I will be buying two 10 inch Alpine type-r's. Now the question is what sort of amp or amps would I need for this sort of system? I could go down to a local shop but i always get the feeling they are trying to scam me because I know very little. So I was looking for an honest opinion. Thanks

OK, couple of things:

1) Do you have a sedan or a coupe?

2) What year?

3) Bose or non-Bose?

4) Do you have a total budget?

If you get the feeling that they are trying to scam you, that's too bad. It indicates to me that you are not yet in the right shop. WHen you find the right shop, they will work with you and explain things and you'll feel at ease.

Where are you?

I have an 03 coupe with bose system. I am located in BC, Canada. I don't need anything crazy just enough to give me some bump. Budget is moderate. I can always upgrade down the road.

"Moderate" is not very helpful. You already own an Infiniti - how moderate is that?

I know there are some good shops in BC. Keep looking.

JL, Elemental, DLS, and Zapco are all good amp names.

Sorry for not being clear, I am not so concerned on brand selection as I am in term of needing a 4 channel amp, a mono block amp etc... Basically the type of amps needed to run a system such as this. I will be using the factory HU.

If you want front and rear components and a sub,the best way to do it is to use a 5-channel amp (JL 500/5, DLS RA50, DLS A7) or a 4-channel amp (JL 300/4, Zapco Reference 360, DLS CA41 or RA40) and a mono sub amp (JL 500/1, Zapco Ref 500, DLS CA11 or RA-10).

You get better sound quality on a budget by abandoning rear speakers and running front components and a sbu on a 3 or 4-channel amp (JL 300/4, DLS RA-40 or RA-30, Zapco Reference 360).
