I got my amp replaced and everything has been ok since then. I also added a cap, which seems to help the sound but, not at all getting rid of the drop in power the car gets when the bass hits hard. So, either a bigger batter, a second battery, or an after-market altenator cause the loss in power to the car is just bothering me.

Now the problem I have now is that I believe they tapped power post bose amp. Mainly to get more power to the LOC (not sure if there is volume adjustable on that one) to drive the amps better. It is loud and pretty clean from 12 to 25 volume. However, on low volume it has static. Not sure why, but after 22 it can have this mid range distortion. Like on some vocals it gets distorted as the volume goes up but only on the mid range it seems. Everything else is clear. Which IMO must be due to the EQ'n from the amp. So, now I want a new radio (HU) to get the sound I should have had to begin with. Thing is that if I go that route and change the HU, I might as well get the Navi and go all out. So I don't have to do this crap again. Such a pain. But, I love my car and I need good sound. There is just no other way.

mid range distortion after 22? that sounds like you probably are clipping the head unit. I couldn't see turning this up past 20 without clipping the signal.

Has anyone added sub/main amps to the stock bose HU and actually liked the results?

I just upgraded my stereo using the stock Bose head unit and it sounds pretty good. Tapping in to the inputs to the Bose amp yields decent sound. I'm using the following equipment:

- MB Quart QSD 216 6.5" components up front (a bit bright, but the sound is clean)
- MB Quart DKD 116 6.5" 2-ways for rear fill
- JL Audio 10w3d4 10" sub in a 4080 box
- JL Audio 500/5 amp powering everything

Hopefully, I can get the Nissan OEM iPod adapter installed in the next month or so.

Does anyone know where exactly the speaker wire is in the trunk that you convert to RCA using a LOC? This is on a non-Bose Sedan.

Hi,

I have the following:
1. DLS a6 amp
2. IDMAX 12" x2

I am only going to put in just one sub with the amp. I was pleasantly surprised to see more DLS authorized retailers. Before when I got my amp, there was like 2 in the US. lol
I have the 06 Coupe with Bose prem HU.

I am doing the install with a friend and so far we ran the amp wire (big red one) from the battery area to the trunk. Also have a remote wire from the cig lighter area (we took the console apart). I had no idea about "LOC" and now i am very confused as to what is going on lol.
Advice? TIA.

Is there a way to bypas the stock bose amp. When I got by system hooked up they tapped into the bose amp and now bose amp gone bad. There is no sound coming out from the speakers. So is there a way to bypass the bose amp and just use my aftermarket amp?

How do you know which Amps will work W/o LOC

I've been looking at allot of amps, and none of them seem to mention the differential-balanced signals, or single ended terminology.

JL Audio

JL Audio makes amps that accepts differential-balanced inputs.
