Has anyone installed or messed with the new unit from Eclipse. It replaces the 5435, and was just wondering the differences... pros and cons?

They are not out yet. The 5500 and 6600 won't be out for a couple months.

I was told by a Eclipse dealer by me in AZ they won't be available until April/May. Sorry for the bad info.

 

No need for the apologies. You were just relaying what the dealer told you. For future reference he was a bit wrong. FOr the 5500 anyway. Somewhat on point about the 6600 though.

 

I just ordered one; should have pics of it installed by next weekend. Does anyone have this in their G yet?

 

Sweet... you have to let me know how that thing looks and works. Where did you order it? are you getting it professionally installed or you doing it your self?

 

I ordered it off this ebay shop that had over 10,000 transactions completed. I am getting it installed by g35riderc; who was the first person to complete the double DIN conversion on the 05+; so yes; I consider that a professional install.

 

Such a shame to throw away 3 years of warranty coverage as well as year of theft coverage.....
