Exclamation Bose Head Unit - Half Dead?

Hey folks,

Yesterday after driving around I press the ON button on the Bose Head Unit and it wouldn't turn on! I tried every button and it just wouldn't respond to any of it.
What I did next what press the ON button from the steering wheel and it turns on perfectly, but the display is messed up. When changing the stations it changes, but again the display stays stationary.

In other words, all the buttons on the actual Bose Head Unit are not working. It turns on fine on the steering wheel control, but display is frozen. I could adjust sound, again no display to tell what level I am at.

QUESTIONS:

Go to the dealership and let them replace it with another? Do they have a fixed version for it? I am sure it will be totally free due to the manufacturer's warranty.

Please let me know! Audio people come in, I am not a car audio man so I need pointers here!

THANKS!

Go to the dealership and let them fix it. It will definitely be covered under warranty as long as you are within the mileage limits. Good luck.

Can you elaborate please? I would like to know further details about the situation. I like to come prepared with ammo.

this is what i c outside the box. "Nissan, Geunine Parts
Print Board
28041-AM813"

First time i opend the box, its a board with lot of chips on it. and one wire attached to the board.

Just take it to the dealer they will replace this. I'm pretty sure its the print board cuz the dealer told me the same thing that your telling...

So far i didnt have the problem, but the dealer did tell me there's a high chance of me getting it so just to be on the safe side they given me the board ahead of time.
dont worry about it, just take it back and ask them to fix it. I'm pretty sure they will replace the same board i have in my hands right now.

All they do is replace the chip and not the entire head unit?
If so, that is indeed good news.

If not, I have CD's in there!

The darn thing is working again. Great, this is going to be hard to prove that it wasn't working before.
