Does anyone know if you can purchase the "GUT" of the player and switch it out with the internals of an 03'.

In other words, can you just take the cd player itself, the internal machanics and take it out so a 2003 can read MP3's.

I don't see what you could not? What keeps the 03' players from reading MP3's anyways,,,the lens, the circuitory, all of the above...the outside dash part has nothing to do with it, so I'm thinking this should "in theory" be possible....

I got a loaner car and it was a 2004 G35 sedan and the songs scroll, the radio FM displays the songs the are playing or the station you are tuned to, Yet my 2005 G35 sedan does not. Also the display is way to low it needs to sit up higher so you can atleast keep your eyes on the road the display also needs to be bigger I believe the most that can fit in that screen are like 10 characters I will be looking to replace my radio.

 

see my above post I agree with you 100%. Imagine your radio being accessible on a 7" wide touchscreen from the location of the stock navigation screen. It's sweet chocolate goodness.

 

streetdeck is hot...but definately not a cheap solution...gonna have to wait to do that :/

Don't have to use streetdeck. I wasn't going to use streetdeck until I had the opportunity to get a beta copy of it. But yeah, it's definately expensive one way or another.
