I'm looking at possibly buying a 2003-2004 G35 Coupe shortly.

Is the navigation voice activated and/or touch screen?

How does it stack up against the Honda/Acura navi system? I have played w/that one & LOVE it, but have never had the chance to mess w/the Infiniti system.

The navigation for 03-04 is nice b/c unlike every other OEM out there that has ruined factory navigations by incorporating the Climate Controls and Radio controls into the NAV (So that you can't operate them at the same time any more) you can do each seperately.

It is not touch screen, but that makes very little difference to be honest.

It works very, very well as far as accuracy, but the one thing I find inexcusable is the "Where am I now" feature. If you press it, it tells you the street you were last on, the one you are on, and the next one coming...but not what town or state you are in which is beyond stupid.

Is it worth $2k for a new car...not any more when you can get an unreal touch screen magellan for like $700 and it's movable...but if you pick up a used 03-04 and it has it...it's very nice. You also get all the features, that for some stupid reason, nissan incorporated into the NAV starting in 03, that they used to use via the steering wheel controls on the 01-02 Maximas and I35s for DTE, Avg Miles Perg Gallon, etc...and it tells you when you are due for an oil change and all that stuff.

 

Is it voice activated?

 

No. There's a joy stick.
