The target is to keep it around $40 US. Otherwise it would not be as appealing to people. I had set this target prior to deciding to add the auto lock feature. It may add a few dollars to the price....

By the way, are you looking to have the doors lock when the key switch is switch ON or when vehicle speed is detected from the wire that goes to the radio and also to the navigation system? I think it is 0-5 volt signal and 0 volts = 0 vehicle speed. Should be a simple circut to detect a voltage of greater than, say 0.5 volt or whatever corresponses to some speed around 5 MPH.

Either way, I'm still interested!

Interesting, on the topic of the tilting mirror. I saw in a post on this site;
http://www.cardomain.com/member_page...=279819&page=8

About half way down, there is a picture (Clearly from Nissan) for an item called the "Automatic Pakring Side Mirror Dipper", which does this very thing, tilting the exterior passenger mirror when in reverse.

It's a JDM part, but I would imagine there has to be a way to obtain it. BUT, I can not see a part # or anything & the over-test in these pics is Japanese. However, they do have some pretty cool OEM/aftermarket items (read gadgets & things WE MUST have)...

Anyone know anything further on this? I am thinking of writing to the guy this post belong to on cardomain.com....

Thoughts would be great!!!

Regards.

PS, in case the link is sort of funky (I did test it & it does work however as pasted here) The member's info is as follows;

and, it is on

Page #8 of his albums...

Alright, this is tight, because I really miss the auto-lock feature of my old car alarm. The windows rolling up via the keypad will be freakin nice too! I'm in if it's not too terribly much. Let us know man!

Or better yet, how about just selling a do-it-yourself kit to some of us experienced EE's / soldering people? What quote did you get per PCB on an order or 100?

Sorry, I have not had a chance to work on it at all lately. The protoype is sitting on my desk collecting dust as I have not even had a chance to put it back into my car. Such is life but work comes first when you gotta make those car payments!

Hey, when you get this working, I'd like one. I don't have my car yet, but soon...
