Re: How about window roll-up via OEM remote ?

Gordon: I tried that, the dealer said that option is only for 03, not 04.

KPierson: Does it really already unlock all doors? The normal behavior of the OEM system is to unlock the drivers door only. Then if you click it twice it unlocks all doors.

Thanks,
Dave

huh. that is a good question. what ever happened to Blitz_G35??

this thread was getting pretty long and I just assumed it was still the same person! =P

but heck, I guess I don't really care who is making it. as long as we get a nice little toy that lets me put my windows up with remote. and hope it's easy to install and reasonable price.

thanks guys.

Re: How about window roll-up via OEM remote ?

The ignition controlled door locks will unlock both doors only when the ignition is turned off. As far as I know, with using pre-existing wiring it is the only way to electronically unlock both doors (at least according to DEI's techsoft). A single pulse on the unlock wire disarms the factory security, a double pulse unlocks BOTH doors, and a very long pulse on the same wire lowers the windows. I am still working on this project as we speak, although my first prototype was a complete failure I guess that will be the last time I drink a few beers and then decide to solder up a board at midnight. I have a few days off of work this week and plan on having all the testing done by tuesday evening.

Re: How about window roll-up via OEM remote ?

I've spent a couple of hours today working on this project, and for the first time I have actually taken my door panel off. The prototype I bulit will have to be modified to sense the door lock pulses, but thats not a big deal. Another feature that will not work is ignition controlled UNLOCKING. This really isn't a big issue because you don't have to have the doors unlocked to get out of the vehicle. The ignition controlled locking will still work perfect, and still be defeatable. The problem is that there is no wire in the door that switches on and off with the ignition. The closes signal is a retained accessory power wire that turns on with ignition and then turns off 90 seconds after the ignition is switched off or as soon as the door opens. I'll post some new info as I find stuff out.

It works!!!!!

I can put my windows up using my factory transmitter. I also have Igniton controlled locking. Let me know who all is interested so I can estimate how many boards to make. Using professional boards is going to drive the cost up a bit, but, will provide for a far more reliable part. All units will be tested before shipped. With the professional boards pricing will be $40, fully assembled. I will also sell individual pre-programmed chips and all the parts and schematics needed for $25. Let me know what you all think!

yeah, put me down for a $40 unit. So does the install require removal of the door panel?

Re: How about window roll-up via OEM remote ?

I'll order the circuit boards later tonight. They should take about a week to come in, and then I'll still have to assemble each board and test every one. You do have to take the drivers door off, I can include instructions on how to do that also. It's a pretty straight forward install that anyone with a little electrical knowledge and a DMM can do. The board I prototyped it on is very small, about 2" by 2". The professional board should be even smaller. I'm taking some pics now and I'll post them soon.

Excellent work!

if you don't mind, could you just recap all the functions etc.?

I'm definitely down with one of the $40 units as soon as you can ship 'em out!

With the board mounted in the position shown in the first picture it is possible to pop off the door switches and access the board (for prototyping reasons) This way, if I ever change the software on the chip I don't have to take the whole door panel off again.

have you tested it on the sedan or just the coupe. If it works for the sedan, I'm in!!
