Re: How about window roll-up via OEM remote ?

here are the connections

like i said earlier upon connecting the wires things started goin a little crazy. the doors would continually try to lock themselves in an irregular repeating patterned., as soon as i pushed the unlock button the doors would automatically lock back and the windows would not go up.

after talking with kevin, we concluded that what could be happening is that the wire connecting to the window control motor was back feeding the micro controller in the module. so inorder to fix that problem i went to radioshack and got a diode.

the stripe on the diode faces the control module. here it taped up and where the wire goes the door to connect to the purple wire controling the window motor.

here are all the wires connected along with the diode. i stagered the connections so there wouldnt be a huge bludge when i taped it up.

and the covers put back on to the taps. the box is still in its preliminary position and must be moved to get the panel back on.

the connection to the purple wire requires you to remove the speaker. at the bottom of the door panel you will see the back end of some wire loom holder clips. i pushed these out so i could get some slack in the wire so i could pull it up to tap into the purple wire.

after i tapped in i put the cover back on then taped it up really well so no water could get to it because on that side of the metal water can get down there when it rains or you was your car. after taping it i put a piece of wire conduit over which opens on the opposite side of the orginally one.

Re: How about window roll-up via OEM remote ?

now remember when i said that there were some minor problems and just puttin in the diode fixed some. at first we thought it could be that because the resistors were only 10k ohm one where is prototype had 100k ohm resistors. after tryin that kevin found out that the resistors were not the problem. so he moved the capacitor to a different location and it worked prefect every time. the capactior was orginally next to the transistors and when the cap was charging and dischargin it was creating a changing electric field. this e-field was causing the transistors to malfunction and do crazy things. since the cap was in direct parallel connection with the voltage regulator, we just desolidered it and solider it directly to the voltage regulator.

here it is with the door panel back on and looking through where the window and lock buttons go.

Re: How about window roll-up via OEM remote ?

and finally a review. installation was pretty easy i would say the hardest part woud have been the poping off of the silver piece covering up the two screws. it was pretty hard to pop off and took a lot of force. connecting the wires was very easy and took little time. after fixing the encounter problems everything works just as it should. the box it a 2 x 2 x 1 square and fits in there without a problem. i would def recommend this great product. my only other wish is that my keyless remote had a longer range on it. i seem to have to be pretty close to the car for it to work. anyone know how to increase the range on our remotes.

all of the said problems have now been fixed and are fixed on all of the new units that will be sent out. so no need for those problems to keep you guys from buyin this awesome mod.

to the other beta testors: you will probably have to put the diode in and move the cap as well. i would try to see if it works at first cause the guy with the 350 was able to get his installed without having to move the cap and his works fine. most likely you will have to move the cap though, since me and kevin both had too.

this thing is awesome. now i / you dont have to roll the windows up before you open the door. my problem was that i would turn the car off then roll the windows up and would have to wait till they were all the way up and then open the door. if you opened the door without them being all the way up they would stop wherever they were at because when you open the door the RAP system would be killed. now i can turn the off get out of the car and push the lock button twice and watch the windows go up as i walk away.

cant wait for your next controllers to come out and to beta test those. ill just keep my mouth shut on those for a while.

sorry for the small pictures, but i've never used photoshop before so i did the best i could by cropping, resizing, and changing the resolution to get them under a 100k.

release to the public has been delayed a little bit, since i took so long for the testors to get theirs. also kevin has to go to philly for 2 weeks so he wont be able to work on them or send them out, but they will be out soon. and i would def recommend picking one up.

Re: How about window roll-up via OEM remote ?

So are the new ones that are being released to the public going to require a cap moved and a diode or are those problems going to be fixed?
I'm sure I speak for everyone anticipating this little feature when I say...
