About the fog lights....

There doesn't appear to be an easy mod. The BCM senses the switch position and sends it over a CAN line to the IPDM (in the engine compartment). The IPDM then energizes a built in relay to turn the fog lights on if the fog light switch is turned on. The only real way to do this is to install an aftermarket relay and catch the wires directly to the fog lamps.

Shutting off the daytime running lamps is just as difficult. About the only way I can see to do it is to interupt the light output coming from the Daytime light control module. This is because this module monitors a lot of different signals in the car.

This stuff can be done, but no 'module' can be made to do it. Sometimes good old reliable relays are the best solution!!!!

Re: How about window roll-up via OEM remote ?

From my research into DRL's (stricly from the manual), the high beam lamps are switched in series under DRL operation, thus running at 50% output. Without having a diagram in front of me, if one was to put a relay anywhere inline, especially between them, the DRL would cease to illuminate.

I didn't get to dig around the IPDM but I've gotten the feeling that Kevin's right. It'd be easier to run your own relay/power to the fogs.

Yeah, I thought as much. I just figured if some sort of module could be built, it'd be an elegant solution to tapping, cutting, and running a bunch of relays and would make it a more accessible mod to everyone.

Thanks for looking into it guys!

Re: How about window roll-up via OEM remote ?

I have a little more testing to do before I feel comfortable sending them out. And, I do need to find something to mount them in/on. I just made a deal yesterday with someone who is willing to take orders and do all the shipping because I travel too much to do it myself. Should be ready very soon though. In the mean time I will basque in the glory of being the only person in the world with one of these modules installed on my coupe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: How about window roll-up via OEM remote ?

Today I installed one of my window Mods in Stopgo's (from my350z.com) '03 350z. His is the second car to get one (mine is the other). I plan on having about 30 of these ready to go in about 2 weeks. After that, I have to reorder the custom printed circuit boards.

Re: How about window roll-up via OEM remote ?

I'm reading through the forums right now looking for Beta test people. I'll email you if you are picked. As far as first batch orders we are creating a website (it looks great so far) and as soon as we put the site online it will be a first come first serve basis. Since this is the forum that the idea was created in I will ONLY post in advance the exact time and date we will put the site online. That will give my fellow G35 drivers a huge avantage over the Maxima and 350Z people. Any day now....
