Low cost audio?
Furthermore, I would strongly encourage you to deaden them doors!!!! No sense in spending $500 (or $5000) on audio equipment without doing the appropriate prep work.
Most cars I listen to around here are limited more by the install than the product.
Audiophile grade equipment won't do you a damn bit of good if the install is crap.
The opposite is true as well. I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the sonic characteristics of moderately priced equipment in a top notch install.

Cool, so the EDi 6500's for the front components. What about the rears and the rear deck's? Is it not important to replace all the speakers? I would like some more bass, but it's more for me than for other people so I don't need something that can be heard a block away, just good, clean, lound enough for me bass. Also, would I need to get a 6 channel amp to run all the speakers (i think the fronts are just 2 channels cuz the tweet and mid are in the same channel?)? Also, post 6 references wires...is it also important to replace all the speaker wire? Seems like it would be a difficult process since the wires run thoughout the car. Is there a DIY on speaker install and wire install on an 06 coupe? Thanks for all your help, this is why I love the online forum community, so much knowledge here =).
It really depends on what you are looking for. I think most who are into true SQ would tell you to avoid rear speakers as they can pull the soundstage rearward dramatically.
What is your budget?
What is your budget?
I don't want to spend too much, but I'm willing to spend money on components that are worth it, know what I mean? I want a high quality, good bang for the buck type system. Do you think I could get a good system (speakes, amp, wires if need be) for around 1-1.5k?
When you say rear, do you mean the ones in the middle or the ones in the rear deck? I guess I wanted to also upgrade the rears because I thought it would help create more of a "full" sound and I do want a decent amount of bass.

Here's what I would advise given your budget:
1. Good solid front stage.
2. Nice SQ sub
And by solid, I mean something that can play low with authority. I still think the 6500's are a great option.
As far as amps are concerned, while I do like the simplicity of a 6 channel system, I think it may be a bit overkill. I would advise you to look at a strong 2 Channel amp for the components, and either a 2 channel bridged to the sub, or a nice monoblock.
I know you guys are going to get all over me for sounding like an eD *****, but I really think that their product fits his price point.
Remember.. .the title of this thread is "Low cost audio".
So with that... I came up with 3 options. All for under $1k. You will still need to consider a box and wiring.
Bronze:
11Ov.2 Sub (2 OHM DVC)
NINe.2X Bridged to sub (600W @ 4 OHM Bridged)
EDi 6500's
NINe.2 (100W x 2 @ 12V)
$769.25 Package Price
$905.00 Retail
Silver:
11Ov.2 Sub (4 OHM DVC)
NINe.1 amp (900W @ 2 OHM)
EDi 6500's
NINe.2 amp (100W x 2 @ 12V)
$841.50 Package Price
$990.00 Retail
Gold:
11Ov.2 Sub (4 OHM DVC)
NINe.1 Amp (900W @ 2OHM)

MasterAV,
You have a coupe, right? I don't see any reason to have rear full range speakers. A couple of eu700 subs in the rear deck IB would be cool though. But you will need to deaden the living crap out of it. But would be a very nice way to get some low-end without sacrificing trunk space.

I too would go with a front stage system and a sub. I presume you would use 4080's sub enclosure.
DLS CA41 70x4 amp.
DLS UP6 components
Image Dynamics 10" sub.
With wire and cable, you are under $1K. Like $950.
The UP6 are tough to beat. Lotta ID lovers around here too

Where would you guys buy these components?
el_duderino - are you in Portland, Oregon? My folks live in Vancouver, WA and I go to visit them sometimes. If you can hook me up, maybe we can work something out.
