xxjustimajinxx - if you count the tweeters, then 4 different pairs for the coupe, otherwise 3 (front components - 6.5" & tweeter; rear - 6.5"; rear deck - 6x9s)

g35driver05 - I'm located in Jersey City, but work in Rahway which is right around the corner of Woodbridge.

drew1313 - yeah, the spacers are the same for both front and rear.

neal540 - the whole thing was ~$500 (speakers + spacers)

Polishtrust - the dog was sippin' too much siz-erp !

Hey MISTIKMACK.

Are all of your components running through the stock bose amp? Or do you have an aftermarket amp? I am actually looking into doing something very similair to your setup. Looks great!

Im sorry, but ONE more question. Do you need a spacer for the front components as well?

Also, what are the hole sizes needed for the Zenclosure?

Thanks in advance. I am really looking foward to upgrading my system.

Where did you get all that for $600? Crutchfield is a bit more expensive.

Thanks!

So do you need the spacers for both the front 6.5" door speakers and the rear 6.5" speakers? The eBay link you listed says "may not fit G35 coupe..." What's that all about?

Could you list the exact model numbers of the speakers you bought and where you got them from?

Thanks! Everythign looks great.

How do the 6x9s sound in the rear deck? Are they still subwoofer-ish with the tweeters?

Thanks for the post, good info.

Nice find on the spacers. I don't have a band saw to be able to cut my own, so I just ordered a set from Zenclosures. Great writeup on the install. I'll be doing this myself soon.

I did the exact same thing a few weeks ago to my Bose stereo. However, I only changed the front speakers with the Infiniti Kappa components (tweeters pop right into the old tweeter locations), using the same spacers. I painted my spacers to lend some "waterproofing" and I also had some VERY extensive sound dampening done before.

The net result: An astonishing improvement! If you're interested in doing this project, I recommend just trying the front speakers first. If you're not happy, upgrade the rest. This might appeal to the more budget minded. However, I do recommend Dynamating/Sound Proofing your doors. My door closes like a $100K luxury car!

So after searching more it does look like you need spacers for the fronts. The link provided to Zenclosures is for the rear spacers. Is anyone making the front speaker spacers?

What did the owner of this thread do for his front speaker spacers?

Thanks!

I posed the same question regarding the spacers, and both the front and rear 6.5 inchers use the same sized spacer.

Yeah Disco_Monkey, I finally got my azz of the couch and just did it . And yes, BOTH front AND rear speakers use the SAME spacers. The spacers from ZEnclosures are all the same size. These spacers were originally meant for the 350Z, which is why he didn't 100% guarantee that it would fit our G. But, they do ! Hopefully, this clarifies things.
