I like the idea of the 4080 enclosure since it dose not take a lot of space in my trunk but it dose cost almost 3x as much. Please give me some insight on both and which one you think I should go for? SPACE or $$$$??? I am kinda leaning towards $$$. I know I would have to get two subs but it would still be cheaper I am not going to go with something to big. I do daily drive my car but I don't take to much out beside when I go out of state for G/Z meets. But I can always put some of the stuff in the back seat.

Thanks

I got the ZEnclosures box and I love it. But really though, it's a matter of preference. I knew I didn't need that much space so I opted to save the $200. But you honestly don't lose THAT much space, only that back part of the trunk. Good luck with your choice.

I like the look of the Z enclosures better with 2 10s but the airspace is what's holding me back. I mean most 10's out there require around .75cuft of airspace to be efficient in the low frequencies. With that said, the z enclosures only have ~.8cuft for 2 10s. Too small for optimum performance. You may be able to get away with using subs that require very small enclosures like the Image Dynamics IDQ10 but even with those that's pushing it. The 4080 box is going to be a better performer. No doubt. But if you don't necessarily have to have that deep bass that can carry for 1000 miles, then get the Z box.

But also remember, getting the 4080 box you only need 1 10 instead of 2. So if you were planning on getting something like a JL 10w6v2, then your high box investment will be compensated by the lower sub costs. Plus if you put enough power to the single 10, I bet it'll be loud enough for you.

I just want something that sounds good and loud enough to hear nice base outside of the car and nothing that you can hear 1000miles away lol. I am just looking to get something like a 10w3 or something small like that.

Thanks

The big benefit with the 4080 box is that you can put the back seats down if you need to put sokmething long in the car, like a pair of skis, or anything along those lines.

Thats why I went with the 4080 box.

i personally would get the ZEnclosure because you cant fit anything in the back part of the trunk anyways.

I have a hookup that made me a box similar to 4080's design but has 1.25 cubic feet for a 10w7 on both sides of the trunk & will have pics soon for all that are intrested.

I looked at the Z-Box and the airspace did concern me. The box is too small for 90% of 10's out their. If were you I would go with thw single 10'' option from them. I think it is .80 cubic feet of air space. Use a high output 10'' and it should pound.

zenclosures look pimp when you open your trunk. 4080 does too now that there is a matching side. Personal prefernce but i'd go with zenclosures.

Maybe this will help steer your decision:

as ppl mentioned b4 the zenclosure is more symetrical looking. The 4080 i thought was a bit weird with a bulge coming out of the left side. Now if you had both the driver and passenger side of the 4080 then its all good.. but with 1 side.. i decided to get the zenclosure. Keep in mind though, with the z enclosure you'll end up spending a lot more since you'll have to get 2 subs...
