Ipod Questions.

Hello guys,
I been searching thru the forum and i found lot of information but i just dont want to depend on that due to the reason it might be out of date.
I been in touch with one of the audio shop, i want to mount my 30 Gb video ipod in my G. The way he told me was i need a adapter which costs $175 CDN. I asked him if there was a way to charge the ipod while it was playing songs. He couldnt find anything on that but i'm sure few people got it done.
I would also prefer to control the ipod thru my streering wheel, Do i need to buy something for that or can the shop do it for me?

https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...t=ipod+install

So i have 3 questions
1) what do i need to get my ipod to charge while its in my car
2) How would the Steering Wheel feature work?
3) If i upload videos to my ipod, is it a good idea to mount screens in the back of the headrest? If so, how would the video quality be?

I need to know asap because i have to call him back soon as i can get this info.
Thanks,
Manbir

Answers:

Question 1) USA Spec PA11-NIS will charge the ipod ($120.00 US)

Question 2) There is playlist mode and direct mode on the PA11 (I personally use direct and specify a playlist if I feel like it.) so basic functions would still be normal (seek up/down = track up/down) same for volume.

Question 3) Do you have a nav?? if so you need a tvandnav2go (03/04=$250 05/06=$299 US) or similar unit so you can play videos on it, if not you need a video switcher to run the video to the screens & the PA11 has aux. audio inputs.

Good luck and let me know what you decide

You can get the USA Spec PA11-NIS from Crutchfield for $106 shipped. Search and there is a thread that provides more detial.

Not sure if price will change since you're in Canada.

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-GZRrTY1...581PA11NIS#Tab

That should be the right one.
the site asked me which car i had and when i selected G35 03 Sedan. It said "This item does not work with the factory system in your car"
I'm pretty sure its false since you guys have it installed already. I should show this to the installer.

i'm having http://www.autotronics.info/ guys take care of the install. they will charge me $60 so why take a risk..lol
My car is 03.5. I'm thinking of mounting the ipod on the Stock Navi Place. When the ipod isnt hooked up to the car, i want to cover the dash so it doesnt look bad. Does anyone here have it done?

NEXT PART:>>> replacing Speakers, Adding Amp, Sub's
not sure but just thinking about it, cuz i dont blast my music so i dont know if i should do all that.

Well, I spoke with Mario.
Their very nice guys, from what i found they gave me a honest answer not like other guys who will just make you buy stuff from their shop. He explained to me how you really dont need caps but its completly up to me if i want to go with.
I'm getting it installed this tuesday, the car will be there for the whole day. So i will keep you updated and get some pictures..
