If you dont need the HD then get 5435. Save $, cheaper than 5495.

who the **** needs a 20gb internal hd in a head unit? that **** will be pase garbage in like 6 months if it isn't already.

You don't have an ipod? get an ipod controller for eclipse HUs like the IPC-106.
If you have the 5435 and use the IPC you can install it into the sirius port and get album, track, artist etc. on screen. If you get the 6600 you can do this as well, but as far as i know the 5495 will only treat the ipod like a cd changer.

Well, I really like the idea of the harddrive. But only if it comes with satellite radio!! I would probably pick the 6600 over the 5435!!

HD is good for navi but i don't need my cds encoded to my head unit's hd at 128k i would rather put them on my ipod and control and view ipod through HU at 256k or VBR

I don't have an ipot YET. But I do plan on getting one in the near future.

And I THINK the nav w/ the 6600 is MUCH better than the others. Correct me if i'm wrong.

I chose the 5495 because im really annoyed with navigation maps on cds, *sigh*, with the 5435 you have more options, which of course is awesome, and the 6600 is a good bet as well. 5495 does not have sat radio or ipod control (cuz its treated like a cd changer, which is fkn lame.) but whatev. I use the harddrive, for few cd's not very many, but i guess its nice to have, and a good way to listen through the entire cd without skipping tracks haha, so they'll record.

5495 does have ipod control just the same as you could have with the stock HU, just no on-screen track info which you do get with the 5435 and (i believe) the 2006 HUs
