Advice before my first ever AutoX.... =)
I am about to run my car in my first AutoX this Sunday in Miami, Fl.
it is on a gocart track where speeds avg. 35-45 with tops speeds of 55-60 and i was just wondering two things.
is there a benefit to the tire inflation?
should the be on the dot or a little under or alot under???
also, i am getting ready to replace the stock Potenza's with some Falkens and the stock tires are starting to get pretty bald.
stupid question but how much of a difference would i feel on the course if i was on the new tires? i didnt want to mess them up so that is why i wanted to just use up the old ones before i trash them.
thanks!

tire pressures: a lot of ppl put white shoe polish on the edges of the tire sidewalls, pump their tires to max pressure rating...after you go out, check to see if your tires are 'rolling over' onthemselves...if not, slowly continue to reduce tire pressure and keep checking to make sure your tires aren't rolling over. When you find that point, it's usually where your tires are at max grip. Also remember that as you continue to go through runs, your tires will be heating up, so you'll need to take some tire pressure out just to keep them the same.
which tires: the OE tires are actually fairly good for performance events...they don't have the best traction, but they're linear and predicable. getting a new set of better performing tires would help...either way, autoX will wear the tires more than normal street wear, but still much less than a track day.
hope that helps! Enjoy, AutoXing is a blast.
