Coupe 19s on '05 Sedan

I just put a set of Coupe 19s on my 2005 sedan. The main reason was to get more rubber on the ground and lower profile rubber purely for performance reasons (AutoX & Track). The cars is not lowered, everything is stock, I am just curious if I will have rubbing/clearance issues in the rear under heavy cornering. The rear tire/wheel is a good inch taller than the stock sport 18s I had on there before. When mounted, that 1/2 inch less room in wheel well, not to mention the coupe rear wheel is an inch wider also. Throw in the different offset the wheel/tire actually sticks out from the wheel well by a 1/4 inch or so. Just looks like to me it could rub in very aggressive driving. If it does, I guess I could run stiffer sways, but dont really want to start messing around with the suspension setup. I am used to the way it is and feel it is firm enough for now. Any thoughts or experience with larger wheel/tire setups on the sedan and aggressive driving? Thanks.

Nick

I run coupe 19s with coupe springs on my 03 sedan. And I've never rubbed. I'm on the oem 245-40-19 RE050s also.

You should be good to go.

IceKold, if your looking for performance for autocross or track, you should stick with a lightweight wheel of 18'' diameter (even 17"). A larger rim diameter will slow you down in the long run as they are usually heavier and take more tire to cover. I went from stock 19's to lightweight 18'' wheels same width of course-and with grippy tires this is a superb setup. The recipe for success is: lose weight, maximize grip, and practice.

You wont rub. The only time i rubbed (and im lowered) is if i had weight in the back.
