Rear Active Steer RAS on the Track
UPDATED 6/1/09 : Rear Active Steer RAS on the Track
Anyone have a timed track comparison of a RAS equipped G vs. a disabled RAS equipped G (i.e. fuse pulled)?
I've never actually timed myself on any track but I'm contemplating pulling the fuse to check out the difference. Although, I'm sure a stopwatch would be more accurate than a butt dyno.
I've also read that RAS is disabled along with the VDC. In such a case it's essentially acting as rearward ballast that I can't move (which isn't 100% bad considering the F/R weight ratio of the G). Anyone know if thats the truth?
I'd like to consider myself as a good driver, say <1 second lap time difference when going @ 100%, but like I said earlier I've never timed myself.
Maybe this weekend if I can disable it via a fuse I'll give it a go, unlike the ABS which when the fuse is pulled the ignition fuse is also pulled (crafty Infiniti bastages!).
Thoughts?
P.S. I don't feel like debating the pros/cons of RAS. If you want to do that go here https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-cou...age-worth.html or the many other Yea/Nay RAS threads.

I haven't pulled the fuse at the track yet, but I'll do it next time I go (June 28th). So the RAS is disabled when VDC is off? I always track with VDC off though, so if this is the case then I won't see any changes.
I'm going out this weekend and I'll try it but the butt dyno don't have a good accuracy.
My understanding of RAS/4WAS on the FM platform was always a high-speed stability application, as opposed to the Hicas/Super-Hicas on the older R32/R33/R34 platform.
Note that the Z does not offer RAS/4WAS.
