Looks like a lot of fun! Was this a members only track day?
So how did the tires and brakes hold up?
What type of tires?
Looks like the BMW in is pretty strong on the straights.

That was a blast! no, nto a private thing. it was an open trackday. it was a corvette challenge day too but they were all in the race group.
Trackday cost $190.
Tires were okay but seemed a little slippery. More so than last time I was there, and these were brand new tires. They are direct replacements, Potenza RE050A 19's. Brakes were good but definitely need SS brake lines. massive fade at end of sessions and overall for the day.
The two bimmers I was hanging out with were a 335i and a 135i, both running the same engine, both at 300hp, and they both seemed to pull on me on the straights. Some of that I could have made up with better lines and better traction but definitely felt like they had more go...

thanks for sharing the vids...
I wanted to go to this but still waiting on rotors - my current brakes were no bueno on this track last time
Why were you so low on the oval (turn 1?)

that's "the line", or so I was told; shortest way around. Also, passing was on the right so I was leaving that open in case anyone wanted to pass. I was kind of taking it easy on T1-2 too. I would level out the speed at 120 on the straight then carry that around T1-2. I don't have an aero kit or rear wing so was worried about uplift and losing the rear. They were warning us about that and freaked me a little. I figured I have more fun thrashing the car around the infield and not so much fun running over 120. I have my motorcycle for that, hitting 150+ at the end of the front straight there.
I installed fresh brakes and tires for this day. Tires were less than a week old and look like HELL now, lol.

I think they like beginner and intermediate to stay low - for the reasons you mentioned (passing and they don’t want you kissing the wall)... I crept up a little - but I'm beginner/intermediate so stated a little low - just not as low as you (unless entering the track).
yeah, I was in intermediate. THere was no reason for me being up higher as I was going as fast as I wanted and was taking the shortest line through there. When entering the track you're on the apron, which is lower than I was.

scary at 120 too. I worked up to it but thats about as fast as I was comfortable there. if I had the car lowered and with bodywork and wing I would feel more comfortable with higher speed there. Wasnt very fun going that fast there though. More fun in the infield, lol.
It was a good time for sure though, and thats all that matters for all of us.
