My latest mod for the track
My latest mod for the track
Just had a weekend at Mosport...Saturday was a school and Sunday was Solo-1 competition. Mosport is notorious for a couple of downhill off-camber sweepers where you need to steadily squeeze the throttle as you go down to keep the rear planted. I watched an E46 M3 get it a little bit wrong in turn 2, and it went backwards into the tire barrier. This inspired the latest mod in my car for the next day. I call it my Mosport trim.

I get a chance to look down a couple of times per lap...but it's there mainly as a psychological aid. I took almost 3 secs off my time on Sunday so it must've helped!
Plus it makes for a funny pic.
Here's some in-car of Mosport from the PCA website - http://www.pcaucr.org/pcaucr/videos/Mosport.wmv
You can see the 3 downhill sweepers there. The corner right after the point-by is turn 1. 1, 2, and 4 are the downhill bladder-emptiers.

I'm told it takes about 1000 laps to get comfortable at Mosport...200 down, 800 to go.
I think I've seen that vid - good example of the wet line which I haven't had to learn yet.
BeaveRun has the same type thing.
Turn 7 at BeaveRun is a right hand down hill off camber turn. If you hit turn 6 just right you will have to do the same throttle application to make 7.
I was finishing 6 going about 35 mph faster than I ever had a few weels ago. My instructor says "Nice job, don't lift." very calmly at about that exact instant I lift while I feel the back end sliding and my nads shrinking.
What happens?
Can You Guess?
I go round and round about 200-300 feet down the track with both feet planted on the floor flat spotting four very nice tires.
It was a learning experience that does not require a taped up reminder!
