Okay, we do have the 888 pad. Which is the SAME pad on the Q45/M35/M45 vehicles. No aftermarket high performance pads are available except the R4S.

And this is per carbotech! .

Damn I might just have to buy factory replacements for backup. Ugg.

Last year I bought 4 sets of front pads, 3 for the rear and 3 sets of rotors. For five track events, I used 2 sets of pads on the front, 1 on the rear and all of the rotors for the front. ChicagoX took the temp of my rotor at RA and it was over 500 degrees. I guess this year will be the same!

Hence....Money ----> heat & noise.

What was the outcome of the fitment for the new G35 models (05-06) pads? Did anyone install the pads: D888 Front & D588 Rear?

The older G35 non-Brembo (03-04) used the D815 Front & D905 Rear.

I have yet to find a pad for the 05/06 G. No brake pads or rotors are available other than OE. If you find one, please post it. Stoptech may be coming out with a rotor replacement. But I know of no company with plans for a pad.
We will have stock replacement performance rotors available to the market shortly for the 05-06 G35's / 2006 350Z.

See my post a little further down for part numbers for Hawk HPS pads. I was testing them for Racing Brake and measured my stock pads and they sent me the correct ones that should work. They did.

FYI, ther rear brakes on the 05-06 G35 use the same pads as the 03-04 G35.

update to pad/rotor saga

So Racing Brake has this part # for the front rotor, 9161-141, which looks like it is the right size, but they don't have the rear rotor that I can find which is supposed to be 12.1 inches for the 05-06 6mt sedan, correct?

The Hawk part numbers are

Front HB387F.547

REAR HB370F.559

So all that is missing is a cross-drilled/slotted rear rotor... Any ideas?
(edit: racing brake replied w/ the part number)
9169-141

I might be a little late to the game here but I've talked with Carbotech and Stoptech and they are all telling me that there are no aftermarket pads available for the 05-06 brakes yet. No "track appropriate pads" is more accurate. Yes there are aftermarket OEM style pads available.

I've been to 2 track events so far and both times I had brake fade and boild the brake fluid. And this was after installing S.S. lines and Motul RBF 600.

The OEM pads a crap and can't even hold up to a minimum amount of heat.

My options are to send a set of backing plates to Carbotech and they will put on any material I want but at a price.

So an update on this subject would be appreciated.

I know a number of people who have run HPS at the track and they fade far too quickly. Does the Hawk HP+ have a fitment for the 05+?

I'm running Brembo's on an 04 and use Carbotech XP8's, and they work like a charm (but, as carbotech isn't an option I'll shut up about those), and would definately suggest these for track events if they ever become available.

Carbotech will put any of their compounds on ANY set of backing plates. Just get a spare set of plates, send them to Carbotech and you will have track pads. Done deal.

I agree, they do fade very fast, but slightly better than stock.

Hope I'm not beating a dead horse with this thread. But I'm looking for a light-duty track/autocross pad for my '07 coupe. I'm pretty new at this and I've found pads for the 03+04 non-brembos, are the 07 coupes the same size pads?
