DIY: Painting the lower sills on an 03/04 sedan

None of which involve painting.

You didn't even know that the 3-gen maxima lowers were painted.

Well, it was either primer or just flat grey. I was always told they weren't painted from a 3rd gen owner. This has got nothing to do with the subject at hand anyways. Get back on topic.

Which is both "Paint".

Point being you are commenting on a subject you have no knowledge about in either a practical or theory sense.

So it would be great if you stopped following Dave B around all over the site and stop trying to trash him on the forums.

Mods/Admin. Can you please just delete all non-essential posts in here and leave the post on it's own?

Well this is kind on topic for those that are thinking about painting plastic. You have to make sure you know what type of plastic you're painting and also if it's truely bare plastic or actually painted plastic because the prep and paint processes are different or you could end up with delamination, etc. FYI- The sills/rockers on the G35 are not painted and from what I'm told, would be considered "new" plastic.

Dave, outstanding effort on getting those lowers painted! Looks great. If I had the equipment I would do the same. Too bad others have to hate for no reason.

IMHO, the only real way to get the paint flat is to either sand it down from the get go or to us a high solids type primer and sand inbetween coats.

Getting the paint flat by using a high amounts of clear and then sanding will leave the clear thick in some areas and very thin in others.
