My concern is the grill chipping! Has anyone had their grill painted for more than a year and not had issues with it chipping, etc.?

I think it looks GREAT but I don't want it to look tacky, etc.

If you get some chips in it just sand it down again and repaint it.
I just recently redid my grill just cause it had a few chips in it.

I've had the grille on flat black paint for almost a year, and there are several chips on it. They are not very noticeable until you get within 1-2 feet of the car. I expected that since I did not put as many coats of paint and clearcoat as I wanted to. I'll have to find some time to re-do the grille.

Did the back emblems first
Did the Back emblems, next is the front grille. Im going to do the grille in a gloss Black and the Infiniti Logo in Matte Black.

Nice job. I have the Caribbean blue on my G and will being doing this soon. Seeing yours makes me want to do mine right now. I think this DIY looks best on the light blue G's IMHO.

One question on the emblem. Are you guys paining the tops of it(and maybe insides?) and if so Im assuming its the exact same process(prep, paint, etc.) as the rest of the grill?

I tried to look at the pics on here but they're not close enough on the emblem to get a good look. Saw one that was black but didn't know if that was paint or was a shadow from the pic's angle.

great thread on this DIY!
