DIY: NRG Hood Props Installed

I recently added a set of Polished NRG Hood Props on my '04 Coupe. I followed the directions given from Infiniti Help.com

http://www.infinitihelp.com/diy/gsed...stallation.htm

The installation didn't happen exactly like the video. When I shut the hood after the props were installed there was no problems, but when I raised the hood it chipped paint off my fenders. I ended up loosening all four bolts and re-aligning the hood so I wouldn't rub anymore. I still open the hood slowly and like having the access to the engine bay without the original hood prop.

This post was just to inform people how things went when I installed this modification. As with all "mods" and aftermarket applications, things can happen different then normally should. The instructions were awesome! I think my hood was stressed from heat/wear, so when I loosened the two bolts it ended up relieving some tension and the hood shifted, causing it to rub my fenders.

Never heard of hood dampeners taking the paint off a fender. Wow!
