Help! Backseat latch broken?

So while I was doing some spirited, though not illegal, driving I incurred heavy braking, (mainly to try and burn off some of the pad on my new brakes so they dont smell ALL the damn time), and my backseat (I have an 04' coupe) just fell down. I pulled over and attempted to put it back in place but it wouldnt stay. Upon further investigation it seems the latch isnt working properly on the backside of the backseat, has anyone had this problem or know a fix?

I know its a late response but did you ever find a solution? I have the same problem, and found out the exact same way.

No unfortunately I did not, I was told by a body shop once they would look at it for a couple hundred bucks, so I never followed through with it.

I ran into a case where the little "fabric latch" that you pull on from the trunk was in a position where it's stuck pulled out.. try checking that as it's probably what it is..
