DIY: Paint your wheels with plasti dip. No sanding!
#31
No spam here. I just could not help but say something about dipyourcar.com. I plastidip all my friends cars here at school right in the parking ramp. Figured I'd give a little input on the subject because no one has even mentioned all the other great stuff plasti dip has to offer.
Sorry if it seemed like spam. I just get excited about this kind of stuff, and tend to ramble.

I have a Lakeshore Slate Sedan with the stock 17 wheels. The paint is chipping on them and I've considered doing this same painting method. I found a similar DIY by a guy with a Focus. I also picked out that Dupli Color Graphite paint. It was suggested by the guys at the auto part store to put a few layers of clear on here. This will offer some scratch resistance to the color layers. I chickened out this summer but now a have a lead on some coupe 19's with tires for a really good deal. So maybe waiting was good. Anyways to the OP, thanks for the pics and I'm glad your results were good. When I get mine done I'll be putting up some pics.

My wheels are still holding up strong. They're now my winter wheels though. I upgraded :P.

yup. they're 19's. I love them. They're def a head turner. I'm much lower now than this picture too. They just keep get better looking the lower you go!
Nope, no gloss was added. I liked how they turned out after the two layers of paint. yeah, gloss would keep it shinier and add some protection, but this process takes no time at all, and these are now my winter wheels, so i'm not worried. Do whatever you think looks best. you'll be okay without the gloss though, protection wise.
