just tap it into the switch on the dash, then use the micro switch to open one leg of the circuit so it does not work when the car is locked.
i am sure something like this would work,
the gas door would be the easiest since its close
someone give me a set of 06 tails and i will wright up a DIY

i saw some questions that weren't answered so...
- 06 Tails are direct plug and play. All the bulbs on the 05 Tails fit directly into the 06 Tails. Even the black plastic part on the 05 Tails screw off, and can be directly fitted onto the 06 Tails.
- Some 06 Tails do not come with the trunk button. Thus there is a "hole" where the trunk button should be. I believe one member asked about this. You have to buy the trunk button separately. I bought mine from Rick at Riverside Infiniti.
- As for a DIY in removing the Tail lights...hopefully this short version will help: First remove the plastic trunk liner, it pops out, you just have to directly pull it up. I wish I had a picture...I'm afraid most people won't know what I'm talking about. Then use a flat head screw driver to pop out the black plastic pieces holding in the trunk felt lining (i know pictures would be helpful...). Lastly, there are 3 nuts holding in each taillight. Unscrew them using an 8mm (i think...it could be 9). That's it. Once again I apologize for this rough DIY...but better then nothing right?

back on topic. how can i wire a mirco switch to get this to work? i tried tapping into the fuel lid wires. just for input to see if anyone can thing of any ideas. what i did was ran a wire from the fuel lid actuator to the button and then the another wire from the button to the power on the trunklid latch. test 1:after pressing the unlock button, i pressed the trunk button and nothing happened. test 2: i just to see, i held the trunk button down and pressed the unlock button and the trunk lid opened. So the fuel lid only gives out a pulse (?) of power in which isnt constant for it to work. but the fuel lid would be good to trigger some kind of relay to be open when locked, and run a wire from the switch inside the cabin to the button. i for one have no experience with wiring or relays and such. i tend to go at it and try different methods. but does anyone know what kinda relay/switch/whatever would work? it would need to be able to use a pulse to close the powered wire. or something that can take 2 pusles, one to open it and the other to close it? sorrry if this confusing but i have no idea what to call these things. but i hope this helps someone to figure this shiat out.

HOLY CRAP - I think all I we need is to wire up this!!! We just attach coil 1 to the "lock signal" and don't hook up any output. We hook up coil 2 to the unlock signal and run the trunk release and the button to it. What do you think? I'm not an electrical engineer but I think this would work.
