I just installed a set of RS-R 350Z springs and it seems I do not need the spring mount mod! Yay!

 

post some pics, i've always said those were the perfect springs for the G

 

the RSr springs are Linear and not progressive so the will look better and act great on the track but not to good for daily driven street cars.

what struts you runing ?

 

The RSR's have great springrates, but a little too much drop for most people looking for a conservative setup. I would definetly use them before going with s-techs though

 

im running z stechs and have a 1 finger gap in the rear without the mod (im on 19")

 

how necessary are the clamp and vise?

 

Redlude, what did you do with the pieces that you cut off? The trimmings? How much for them? I wanna bump my REAR end up a hair to get even gap. I wanted to lower, but I've gotten afraid because I caught the asphalt with my front end one time with it at the STOCK height.

 

I still have them, but if you are looking to raise the rear a hair, then you are better off using something like this:

depending on the thickness you needed. You will get a more precise change in height with these spacers to fine tune your ride height to your desired settings

 

Would I need to get longer bolts at the top of the spring bump things?

Just did my springmount mod yesterday and went pretty well, one word i can't express too much is "lubrication" lube lube and more lube. as long as you keep the rubber and blade lubed it will cut like a dream if not .... good luck.

Here are the end results. While I was there I added 5mm spacers for the rears making my wheels from +22 offset to +17 offset, now the rear wheel is flush with the fender.

 

Now, tell me, blkonblk17, how often do you scrub bottom? How is your car in going through driveways?

 

Actually to be honest with you I have not scrapped once, the roads arent that bad here in miami around where I live.

 

Well, I am impressed. I don't care how good the roads are; if you have not scraped the front/rear end or the exhaust or anything, I am impressed.
