OEM Brembo Caliper Big Brake Upgrade

Why hasn't any company produced a larger rotor upgrade kit that uses brackets to relocate the OEM Brembo caliper yet? I just couldn't fathom ditching perfectly good Brembo calipers just to run a larger rotor. For example Racing Brake makes the BBK for the OEM 2-piston caliper, why not make one for the OEM 4 piston Brembo Caliper?

Thats a good question. You may want to PM DaveO as he is currently testing the Racing Brake kit on his sedan. He might have an in with Racing Brake.

I know that someone else on the forums was working on a caliper relocation kit for the Brembos to match up with 15" rotors. I think it was turbomaxima.

These aren't exactly the OEM brembos, as I bought them off ebay, but they did bolt onto the car. However, I could only use 314mm diameter rotors, instead of the stock 324mm ones the the Brembo equipped G35s came with.

I had a pair of relocation brackets made, and now I'm using 345mm rotors with Nismo brake pads. The rotors are floating 2 - piece ones, weigh about 14.5 lbs on a bathroom scale.

It took me about a year though, to get this setup completed. If you're looking for a BBK, it's easier to go with the usual kits.

This setup does perform very well around town, though.

This is exactly what I was looking for! What car were those brembo's originally for and how much where they?

Who made the relocation brackets and what car are those rotors for?

The calipers I bought off ebay. My best guess is that they are Sentra SE-R calipers. But instead of gold, they came powdercoated red with white brembo lettering. And they looked new. The piston sizes are 38 and 42 mm (compared to 38 and 44 for G35 brembos).

The brackets were made by emachineshop, but I spent about 2 months working on the design before I sent them the final blueprint for production. It's made of T6061 aluminum.

The rotors are aftermarket Audi S4 rotors. 345*30mm.

Brake pads are Nismo G35/350z brembo pads.

Lines are Stoptech SS lines.

My rear brakes are a more conventional red brembo/stoptech 2-piece/SS line setup. It was alot less hassle.

Hey EK.

With all the Brembo calipers out there, I imagined there had to be several that might be bolt on for the G35.

You don't by change have any more info about yours (original fitment) or possibly a seller?

Also, did they fit with the stock rotors before you upgraded to large diameter?

Thanks.

My hunch is that they were Sentra SE-R calipers that came powdercoated red. They could only fit a 314mm rotor on the G35 front hub. That's one of the main reasons why I decided to change to a larger rotor, now they are 345*30mm ones. I'm running Nismo pads in the front, and soon I'll add Nismo pads to the rear. The braking is very nice, my wife complained about how well they stop though with the deceleration forces.

I bought them from ebay about 3 years ago, I doubt the seller has more.

I know this is a pretty old thread, but if someone's still looking to run larger rotors with their OEM Brembos.. Here's a solution! A bit expensive though but they do come with rotors

^Nice find! I too have been curious about what it would take to run a larger rotor... Anyone convert that price from the Global Z kit?

EDIT: nevermind haha, just saw where you could convert currency. That is pricey for a regular plain rotor to be included.

It is! Unless they'll sell their adapters separately? Bigger rotors but not bigger calipers might look funny too haha
