Do you have Axxis Ultimate pads? Do they squeek?!

Hello, I recently installed some Axxis Ultimate brake pads with some racingbrake slotted rotors, and at certain times, if im going slow enough and I dont apply very much pressure, they squeek insanely loud... anyone have this problem with these pads, or with any other pads? I hope its normal with racing pads but im not sure... Thanks!

I have the Axxis Ultimates with Rotora slotted rotors and no squeeking here...and I just tracked the hell out of them at Gainesville Race Way.

Have you tired using the CRC no squeel red goop or spray that you apply to the back of the brake pads? It may help...

A 240SX stops very well?

I absolutely don't believe it.

240 OEM brake components are soo poor, at least they were on the S13's, probably one of the cars biggest weaknesses. Anytime I drive mine, it feels like I'm going to just never stop.

LOL
What I mean is for a 240SX it stop very well! When the brakes were about 3000 miles old. It out stop my buddy 95 SE with 300ZX brakes(I think its TT, But not sure), with OEM Nissan pads. And the SE also has alittle bigger brakes then the S13 and S14 Base!

Hmm that no squeal stuff seems good, you apply it to the back of the pad? I dont really get how that stops the squeal but... if this keeps up ill try it. I dont think they are broken in enough im going to try and go from 70mph to like 10 a few times and see if that does anything ^_^

Describe the acoustic isolation shims you are using....... oem?
Shims are sound matched for oem pads and rotors.

I use the shims and red no squeel brake goop with my axxis pads and no squeeling or screeching here. Also, as soon as you install the new pads, proper bedding of the breaks is definately recquired and recommended.

My friend, 98Intrique (on this forum), has a squeeling sound as well and he installed his brake pads without the shims. Q45tech, do you think the squeeling/screeching problem lies in not using the oem shims?

im guessing the shims would be those thin metal pieces that were on the oem brake pads that i threw away.... i thought the axxiss had them already attached :0/ where can i get some shims anyone know? Thanks!

hmm i read that it may have been improper bedding that makes it squeal. When I got the brakes installed last week I only did 40mph moderate braking to bed them. I just went out (3am) and did you 60mph --> 10mph braking like stoptech suggests in their bedding guide. After I cooled them by driving around for about 20 minutes they seem to not squeek, but we will see tommorow when they are completely cool :0)

i have the exact same problem. its been pissing me off. right when i am about to come to a stop it does it. i asked the mechanic if i needed the oem shims but he said no and that the axxis came with shims attached. i installed stoptech ss lines, motul 600 fluid and the brakes feel so much better. the only thing i dont like is the freaking break squeal.
