Brake Pad Question
Well I've had my coupe since the end of December and for the past few months my brakes have been squeeling - pretty loud. Is there any quick way I can check and see if I need new pads or am I going to have to take off the wheels and look? I've never replaced pads before and am wondering if I need to now.
Also if anyone can recommend some good pads that will last a while and also good for autocrossing can someone please let me know? Thanks.

I believe there was a TSB regarding noisy brakes. Check the TSB section on this forum and see if you can get the offending parts replaced under warranty.
As for pads you can use for autocrossing. I would recommend the Brembo S-tune pads, Project Mu (several types), and Endless (Super Sports-S and up) pads. For autocrossing you'll need a pad that can handle higher temperatures ~700 degrees with minimal fade and good bite and feel for good modulation.

I'll check the TSB's.
What I am wondering though is if those higher performance pads will work with my OEM brakes?
Also is there a fairly easy way to check the pads?

As for checking the pads, if you can see them, there should be some kind of indicator. It will start squealing when the pad goes down to 1/4 of it's useful life??? Other than that, I don't have a detailed answer for you since brakes are pretty low maintenance compared to other things. Can someone confirm? You can check application of pads from the manufacturers to get the proper part numbers.
if you can find a small mirror... since i work on cars i have a telescopic mirror... you put the mirror on the top portion of the caliper (theres a hole on top) and get a flash light... use the mirror and flash light to see on top of the caliper and then youll see the rotor and pads anything under like 4-3 mm you want to change your pads... i believe companies do make aftermarket pads for you caliper size... check out Hawk... even though aLLi had some bad luck with the hawks (they gave her the wrong ones... they gave her the ones for 03-04 non brembos) might want to ask around... hope this helps jordan
PS if you do change your pads dont forget to get your rotors resurfaced (only if they are within specs) or buy aftermarket rotors
