Brake pad bed-in
Brake pad bed-in
so when I've had aftermarket pads/rotors on other cars, a bed-in procedure
was always recommended (several stops from 60-10, cooling off in between).
Is this also recommended for stock pads/rotors? I went to tirerack, and their recommendation depends on which pad/rotor you have.

thoughts? advice? I did this when I got G35X #1 when new, can't remember if I did it with #2. thanks, Kash

I did a very proper very complete bed-in process, and I can not believe the braking quality, smoothness, etc.
It was well worth the multiple car trips using only gear-braking and the parking brake to stop before I could complete the process

From Nissans TSB on Armada and Titan brake repair.
It does make a differance.

Burnish the Brake Pads
A. Drive the vehicle on a straight smooth road at about 30 mph (50 kph).
B. Use medium brake pedal/foot effort to bring the vehicle to a complete stop from
about 30 mph (50 kph). Adjust your pedal/foot pressure so that the vehicle stopping
time is 3-5 seconds.
C. Cool the brake system by driving at about 30 mph (50 kph) for approximately one
minute without stopping.
D. Repeat A, B and C (above) ten times to complete the burnishing process.
