the fronts are pretty easy...just by looking at it, you'll know what to do. the rear...it's easier done with the b-pipe removed. impact wrenches help a lot!

Whenever working under the car, you should always put the car on jack stands.

...we want to keep our community members alive - jackstands are a must.

Are those adaptors for the stands that I see? Where'd you get 'em.

Made a set for "exactly" this reason...
I'm currently doing a Sway Bar install (along with a new Exhaust System install).

I think it's easier with the car on ramps as the suspension isn't unloaded. I HIGHLY recommend a set of deep socket wrenches in a 1/2" driver. And a decent length breaker bar. Some of the nuts on there are on pretty tight.

I did the rear bar with the stock exhaust on. Just loop the bar up/over the exahaust pipe. No problems at all. At least with the Hotchkis bars.

I suggest Med front/rear as a beg settings

Ramps work...but, on a level surface without any inertia, there's no load on the sway bars. I used jack stands and didn't have to disconnect anything on the rear muffler. Just a little bit of twisting around the pipe so be sure you get the car a good 14 - 16" (from bottom of rear diff, not wheels) off the ground. If you're particular like me I taped the rear bar so that it wouldn't get scratched when slipping it around the exhaust pipe. Never know who's gonna look at this AND use a torque wrench with a quality socket because those are special bolts being fit onto aluminum connecting rods. Manual says 41 ft-lbs for the rear and 65 ft-lbs on the front rods.. PM me if you want the FSM for the front and rear suspension. Suggest you read them over (a 5 min read.) as it's got good info. It's easy to do, but do it right and safe.

Not to disagree but it would seem much easier doing this job on the Jack Stands. I am right in the middle of doing my Sway Bars and it's really going really well. This job would be even easier using a Lift, or even using a Pit (...if I had a lift, though I do have a pit). Also, after the install, you could then do all of the final tightening on the ground, with the suspension "loaded". I haven't tried ramps yet. Also sounds like a great idea !!

I suppose either way would work. It's just a pain to either jack the car up one side at a time or somehow remove the underbody cover to get a nomal jack under to jack it up.

For me, it was way easier to just drive the car up on ramps and be done with it. I did have to first put the wheels on 2x6 boards so the car would clear the ramps. I HAVE to get my hands on some ramps made for lowered cars.

IMHO, when I tried to do the bars on my old car, having the wheels hanging unloaded the suspension. But it put tension on the endlinks via pulling it down. That made it harder to remove things. But I'm gathering it's not a problem with the G35. Good to know!

...I agree either way will work but lifting the rear of the car from the differential (designated lift point) allows you to place both jack stands at the same time. The front is a whole 'nother story. In that case ramps would probably be better as you can't get a normal jack under the front lift point. I'm just leary of backing onto ramps with a manual transmission.
