Vibration due to Camber
Vibration due to Camber
Guy's, I did a search but the results were unconclusive..HELP PLEASE...I feel as if im getting squezed by Infiniti/Dealership...
As sooo many other G35 owners have stated on this forum about there Camber problems with the G Coupe, I have some also...
My '04 Premium package G has 21K miles on her and this is now my 2nd set of tires...and 2k miles into this new set im getting Vibration from the front tires...With out much effort you can clearly see the front and rear tires camber in a bit...But just 2k miles ago I put on 4 new tires, and got an alignment..however I didn't go through the dealership..I went to a friend at Tire Kingdom to save a couple bucks. When he performed the alignment he showed me how off the car was at all 4 corners, and tried to correct it the best he could..However he mentioned something to me about Infiniti/Nissan was stupid when they designed the G's suspension...something about the toe not being long enough to completly straiten out the wheel (or something like that)....Well sure enough, 2 months later, the car is making a bit of noise from the front tires, and you can clearly see the camber back in full effect..So I contacted the dealership AND Infiniti directly...Basically there both saying that this is normal for the G35 coupes, that they only average like 10-12K miles per new set of tires??!!! How can this be? And now there telling me its not there problem to fix, that this is normal...? Im sorry, but im just not buying this crap. If I would've known the tires needed to be changed once every year or so, I probaly would've not purchased the car, and now that's sad to say considering this G35 has kinda been like a "dream car" to me!
Is there anything I can do? Or how can I fight this?

our cars comes with slightly negative camber for performance improvement. However, our Toe at OEM height should be corrected at zero.
Also, there should not be any vibrations. Vibration is more due to warped rotors or bad pads, etc.
Go to a different dealer and have them checked it out. You're still under warranty/

Ultra Performance tires wear fast [from soft rubber] that's were the performance comes from. To gain 5-10% better than average run of mill 40,000 mile life tires you must significantly increase wear rate!
Same with braking, ultra short 60 mph stops require a very fast wearing, very dusty brake pad.
If money is a concern you can always redesign out some of the performance with different tires or brake pads.
