Brake bang!

I just bought my G35 coupe Monday. 03, with 13k miles on it. This is also my first post.

I have a quick question..If I pump the brakes I hear the calipers banging...Is this normal for the g35? or do I have an issue?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

Check your brake pads. Do you have a 6mt or 5at. if you have an AT then you might need new pads and maybe look at the rotors as well.

Lots of brake issues on 03-04 5at.

i recommend putting on aftermarket brake pads and rotors. the infiniti product is garbage. i dont have the time to clean my rims every day, so now all of my rims are stained black from all of the brake dust. i put on hawk hps pads.

I doubt any banging coming from the brakes is normal

I had this problem. It is the rear universal joints making the noise. Does this sound right: It happens when you come to a stop for the 1st time after the car sits for a while and then does not do it again? If so, mine was covered under warrenty. Good Luck.

Hi, I have a 6MT , is there a difference? from my understanding..AMT doesnt have Brembo, but 6mt does?

When coming to a rolling stop..and I hit the brakes fairly hard there is a clanky bang..it does it while stopped too. Almost sounds like the calipers engaging and hitting the bar rotor; which isnt the case because the pads are fine.
