Is it okay to mix different brake pads?

Just installed Monroe Ceramic pads in the front. The back are still using Nissan OEM. I was wondering if it's okay to mix different kinds of pads or should I always stick with the same brand front and rear?

Nothing probably beats the oem pads in single or mild back to back stopping from even 120 mph.......changing the friction vs speed of application and the friction vs temperature curve can significantly [say up to 10-15%] INCREASE stops under identical conditions. Whether 12-20 feet longer [worse in wet] is a matter between you and your insurance or the legal system.

When you rear end someone you are always at fault anyway.

Same with changing oem suspension and tires. Take a look at TireRacks test 50 mph braking wet and dry...........identical sized tires can vary up to 25 feet in wet from just 50 mph.
